Marinate in seated postures to open tight connective tissues of hips, spine & shoulders. Most forms of Yoga practiced today are Yang, they emphasize muscular movement and contraction. By contrast Yin Yoga targets the connective tissue of the hips, pelvis and lower spine. Yin postures are held three to five minutes at a time. This type of practice complements the more muscular styles of Yoga and is a great aid for learning to sit in meditation. Don't let this scare you... Yin is defined as soft, hidden and slow. This is a great way to unwind the mind as well as muscles. Meridian-Yin Yoga - For All Meridi-Yin Yoga Meridi-yin combines the resistance of Meridian stretching and the long holding and softening of Yin.
